Why ConnectedVisits?

happy-mother-and-sonMany of us (1 in 5 Americans) provide caregiving to older, sick or disabled family members and friends every day.  Caregivers are daughters, wives, husbands, sons, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, partners and friends.  The loved one (family member receiving care) may have a variety of things to contend with such as diabetes, high blood pressure, asthma, congestive heart failure, etc.  The caregiving tasks could be routine, but important functions need to be maintained. The tasks may include:

· Making medical appointments

· Juggling time with various doctors' visits and drugstore(s)

· Discussions with the doctors,  case managers and other medical  professionals to understand what  needs to be done.

Over time we can become exhausted and stressed from caregiving roles on top of busy work and family schedules and begin to feel guilty and depressed as our stamina wanes.

All this could be while handling a crisis at work.  You also may be the designated "on-call" family member for problems with the loved one.  Further added to the stress could be long distance travel or even having to fly in. Caring from a distance is difficult both emotionally and logistically.

Our team after spending years researching and developing software in the medical profession, we discovered many families struggling to be part of their loved one’s doctor visits.  Often, their loved one couldn’t communicate the right information at a visit and would struggle to interpret what the doctor was saying after the fact.  That’s why we developed ConnectedVisits – so families can communicate better – and provide better outcomes and quality of life for EVERYONE involved in providing the best possible care.

Our team has been working together for years trying to improve how families provide care for their loved ones.  We have a passion for helping families get connected because that’s where the day-to-day care happens, and health improvement is possible.
